Updates and Notes; Commission Info

Tue Apr 4, 2006, 7:17 PM
Copied from my LJ...

Remember, remember.
Election Day in November.

If you haven't already guessed, yes I have seen "V for Vendetta." If you haven't already taken it in, I do suggest it posthaste. I shall not post any details, I do not wish to spoil, however I will say that there are a great many parallels between the events and characters of that movie and the events and characters of our current life in America. Not on such a grandiose scale, and not letter for letter, but to anyone who scorns the current state of affairs and understands the very real wrongs being committed on a daily basis here in the name of Freedom (which only results in the gradual death of) the parallels will be well understood. Perhaps there are parallels in both governments fabricating great death to push a cause, proven in the movie and speculated upon in real life. The movie makes it clear that bringing down a building changes life as we know it, and it was all too true on the eleventh day of September not so long ago. Lo and behold, the government used it as an excuse to invade- of all places at the time- Iraq. We cannot leave out the Patriot Act, now renewed indefinitely, much to the chagrin of TRUE freedom lovers, and the losses of our freedoms to take photographs of what we wanted where we wanted, the further tightening of legal travel in and out of this country (and somehow in the wake the laxity in illegal travel increasing?), and further pushes towards nationwide observations and tracking in the names of "safety" and "security." Finally, the great push towards religion, specifically ONE particular religion, to be the driving force in everyday life and the reasoning behing what the public may do and most frighteningly what the government may do.

We must not bend over to take this any longer. Very slowly, our way of life is being slipped away from us. The promise of a safe America free of terrorism is dangled enticingly in front of us and as the nation yearns for a taste of the treat our real prize, the prize fought for and won by the blood of those who founded our nation is craftily being snatched out from under us. We shall soon take grasp of the morsel of "safety" and the second we do, the bitter, horrid taste will instantly remind us of the delicious fruit of our forefathers' labors laying a strong foundation beneath us, only to snap back to it and see it vanished completely. We will then be left with the sham of total safety, paying the ultimate price of losing everything America was once defined with.

Remember all this on that Election Day that will come on that fateful November. We can only hope it shall come and not be lost for the sake of "keeping America on the course of 'freedom' and security."

Remember then, or remember what you will have lost.

Yes I know I'm falling behind. Again. Already. I rock.

Buy me a one year subscription to deviantArt and in return you will get a #3 type commission, one character, not overly detailed but not the most basic (details will be hammered out with involved party)! This is an excellent way to get a $50 or more commission from me for cheap! Buyer must still pay for shipping, but it will still be a deal especially considering my prices. Also, if anyone out there would like to purchase me a Livejournal paid account (I'm azrien on there as well), I will do the same type of commission. If someone would be so nice as to buy me both, the reward will be either a two-character #3 commission or a #4 commission! Please contact me prior to purchasing either, just so commish details can be hammered out. I can be reached at " auralythic AAT gmail D0T com " (email butchered to avoid evil spammer suckness.)

Commission Status: Open!
Art Trade Status: Ask first. If you are someone who I would love to have art from, chances are I'll do a trade. Otherwise, please look into commissioning me :)
Requests: Never.
Gift art: These I do when I feel like giving a gift.

Current:
Art trade with Murkrowzy, character Ratch (Not started)

Now that I feel comfy and cozy with sculpting, I now offer sculpture commissions and I will go on four different levels of complexity:

1) Miniature: Basically, just a small sculpture (3" or less) with a simple pose, maybe a hanging ornament, something that sits on a monitor, etc. Low level of detail, about $15 depending on what is desired.

2) Standard size/pose: Something larger than a Mini (3"-8") in a standard pose, like a stand or a sit or laying down. About $25-$30, depending on complexity and desired creature.

3) Standard size, pose of choice: Same as above, except any pose I feel comfortable tackling, something which will be confirmed when I make the armature. If two characters are desired, I could make them interacting, in a play pose or fight pose, sky's the limit! I will attempt the pose during armature creation, and if it works out then I will contact you and I will go ahead making it. Prices start at $40, but go up depending on complexity of pose and whether it's a single character or two characters.

4) Large size/custom: Pricing for this will be on a case-by-case basis. It includes sculptures larger than 8" as well as very complex requests, such as sculptures involving three or more characters interacting or really, really complex poses.

(NOTE: If the plan is to have a single character interacting with something small, like a housecat, pomeranian, butterfly, sparrow, etc, that does not count as multiple characters, rather it counts as detail and complexity)

What I am comfortable doing:

Canines (wolves, dogs, foxes, canid-like creatures)
Felines
Reptiles and dragons (case by case)
Anthros (plantigrade and digitigrade)
Other mammals

What I will attempt, with some practice before working on the commission itself:
Gryphons
Birds
Fish
Dinosaurs, feathered saurians
Insects

What I doubt I can do, but may attempt with no promises:
Humans
Really strange creatures like those from the Alien and Predator movies

What I will not do:
Sexual content, porn, etc. I will do gory scenes, if I feel comfortable with the desired content.

Payment will be done in stages, one partial payment after the armature is approved for the pose plus a sketch depicting how I feel the design will turn out, and final payment will be due before I ship the sculpture. Very complex pieces may have a three-stage payment.

All inquiries, serious only, please, direct to my gmail account: auralythic AAT gmail D0T com

That is all ^_^
